The Shores was platted out in the 1960s into thousands of quarter-acre lots off Baseline Road and Maricamp, and a huge number of them still sit under forty years of scrub oak, palmetto and sand pine. Clearing one is its own particular job: tight setbacks, neighbors on both sides, an existing chain link fence you would rather not replace, and a septic drain field you cannot drive a 20-ton excavator across. We have cleared enough lots in the 34472 to know which streets have hardpan close to the surface and which ones turn to sugar sand the second you scrape the top off.
